Mariah appears on Randy Jackson's upcoming album

It should come as no surprise to anyone that Mariah Carey is the premiere inspiration to aspiring singers.

It's evident when watching any episode from any season of "American Idol".

From the hand gestures, to the poise, to the vocal riffs and bellows, all the way down to the song choices, Mariah is the diva of modern times.

While she has never appeared on the show, she does share a close relationship with judge Randy Jackson.
Jackson has played on various Carey records throughout the years, even before his new popularity as a judge on the karaoke contest.

His guitar solo on Mariah's cover of Def Leopard's "Bringin on the Heartbreak" for her 2003 album "Charmbracelet" is a recent highlight.

And though it appears Mariah won't be helping Jackson out anytime soon by appearing on the hit show(she has denounced the show and what it represents several times) she is willing to lend her starpower to another Jackson project: His first solo album.

"Randy Jackson's Music Club: Vol 1" is Jackson's first foray into releasing a major album, and Carey appears on the closing track.

While it may be weird(and to some downright sacreligious) to think of Mariah Carey and Paula Abdul appearing on the same tracklisting(Abdul guests on the first single "Dance like there's no Tomorrow") ,it is good news to any Mariah fan that has been patiently awaiting the spring release of her new album.

Randy's album is released on March 11th, 2008.
